TEXTURING GROWTH IN VUE

Working with procedural textures in vue we explore how to create bespoke materials that replicate vegetation growth up a solid surface. Using fractals and multi materials in the material editor is a quick and easy way to emulate the effect of "spotty" growth and we look at how to modify a material to work with the influence of the environment - making sure the growth is constrained mainly to the lower portions of the surface.

CREATING QUICK RUBBLE IN 3DS

We take a look at how to work with the loose rubble in the URBAN DECAY bundle and how to create very quick rubble piles using the mass fx tools in 3ds max.

The tutorial covers using dynamic rigid body animation to "drop" the rubble onto a static car model. It also covers exporting both a multi part OBJ and a single mesh OBJ for use in VUE or any other 3d program.
